How to book a freighter cruise

Booking a cargo / freighter ship cruise is not quite as simple as booking a normal cruise. Most run to a fairly regular schedule however this can change depending on the freight being transported. This means ports of call may change, as well as the amount of time spent in a port.

Passage Contract Bookings are accepted subject to the terms and conditions of the passenger ticket and passenger contract and published booking conditions. Copy of the terms and conditions are provided at time of confirmation. Important notice All information regarding ships, accommodation, fares, routes, ports of call, voyage duration, etc. is for general guidance only and is subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Health and Age Restrictions Only passengers of good physical and mental health can be accepted for carriage on container ships. We cannot accept passengers once they turn 80 years of age. Passengers should be aware that container ships do not usually carry a doctor – only basic first aid treatment is available. Medical Certificate All passengers must have their doctor complete the medical questionnaire which will be sent with your confirmation letter – this is to be done only 60 days prior to the sailing date. Injections Please speak to your doctor regarding immunisation questions. Yellow fever is generally compulsory due to you coming into contact with the crew (not based on the ports you visit). |
